SQL Server 2014 CU3 has been released. This release contains 25+ bug-fixes for SQL Server 2014 that includes bugs related to performance, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Integration Services, DQS, SQL Server Management Studio, In-Memory OLTP, Replication, SQL Server Setup, SQL Server Service, Etc.

SQL Server Community Recommendations/Guidance:Please test SQL Server 2014 CU3 thoroughly in your test environment against all production scenario before installing this in the production environment.

SQL Alert: SQL Server 2008 and R2 Mainstream Support Ends

The mainstream support for SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2 is scheduled to end on July 8th 2014. Also, the product team is working on releasing a final service pack for SQL Server 2008/R2 (SP3) after the mainstream support ends. This means, services that will be upgraded to SP3 after SP3 is released will continue to receive MS-Support for the duration of one more year and after which the support will end.

SQL Alert - SQL Server 2012 SP2 CU1 Released with 40+ Bug Fixes

SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 CU1 has been released. CU1 for SQL 2012 SP2 contains 40+ bug-fixes for SQL Server 2012.

SQL Alert - Index Rebuild Can Cause Data Corruption

The online index rebuild can cause index corruption or data loss when it is used together with concurrent queries that modify many rows.

Example Scenarios:

1.Replication updates many rows on a table when the online index build is running on the same table concurrently.

2.Heavy DML activity happening on the table while index is being rebuilt
