Microsoft SQL Server Community Worldwide is a one stop SQL Server resource site formed by passionate SQL Server subject matter experts from across the globe. This community is an independent organization that provides central hub for SQL Server professioanls to Connect, Share and Learn from each other.
SQL Server Community was founded in 2006 by Saleem Hakani (Microsoft Technology Evangelist) and several other Microsoft employees and experts from across the globe. It currently consists of 125k+ registered users from 119 countries and continues to increase.
The mission of this community is to help SQL Server users by sharing knowledge, providing best practices, education and various other SQL Server resources contributed by the members of the community.

 Saleem Hakani has 17+ years of experience with database systems and has worked extensively with SQL Server since it was first ported from Sybase System 4.2 in 1992. Saleem is a Senior Technology Evangelist and Worldwide Technical Community Leader working at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, WA. He has worked on numerous large scale Microsoft properties as an architect that include Hotmail, Bing and MSN. Saleem is also a technical presenter for various SQL Server technical events conducted at Microsoft.
In the year 2007, Saleem Hakani was recognized as the founder and leader of SQL Server Community by the SQL Server Business Unit at Microsoft for helping and sharing his SQL Server knowledge with 25,000+ Microsoft employees. He is also responsible for creating SQL Server standards and SQL Server automation projects for the internal SQL Server Community at Microsoft (most popular: OpsDB).

 Balmukund is currently working as Technical Lead in SQL Support team with Microsoft India GTSC. In past 6+ years with Microsoft he was also a part of Premier Field Engineering Team for 18 month. During that time he was a part of rapid onsite support (ROSS) team. Prior to joining Microsoft in 2005, he worked as SQL developer, SQL DBA and also got chance to wear his other hat as an ERP Consultant.
His professional career has come close to a decade, though he first wrote his "Select" statement in Jan 1991 for Ramco System’s ERP.
Balmukund is passionate for technology, learning and sharing his knowledge. He is active blogger on http://blogs.msdn.com/blakhani to share his knowledge with world. He also owns project SQLServerFAQ (http://blogs.msdn.com/SQLServerFAQ) where SQL support team writes technical content on various topics, issue reported by customer and their solutions. He is also active forum member on Microsoft SQL Server forum http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/sqlserver.
During his (exceedingly rare) free time in office he can be seen helping someone on forum and learning something new about SQL Server.
Balmukund holds a Master's Degree in Aerospace from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. He is married to Palak and likes to spend his free time playing keyboard (music), computer games and chatting with his 9 month old daughter, Samriddhi.
