SQL Alert: SQL Server 2008 and R2 Mainstream Support Ends

By Saleem Hakani on 8/25/2014

The mainstream support for SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2 is scheduled to end on July 8th 2014. Also, the product team is working on releasing a final service pack for SQL Server 2008/R2 (SP3) after the mainstream support ends. This means, services that will be upgraded to SP3 after SP3 is released will continue to receive MS-Support for the duration of one more year and after which the support will end.
